I have discovered that there is something that we overlook in this journey of life and that is the importance of relationships in fulfilling our God-given destiny.
You see, no one walks their path to purpose alone. God, in His infinite wisdom, has placed people along your journey to help, guide, encourage, and challenge you in ways that will push you toward fulfilling your calling.

These people are your Destiny Helpers—divinely positioned people whose role is to assist you in moving forward into the plans God has for your life. But here’s the thing: if you’re not spiritually aware, you might miss the blessing these relationships bring.
So today, we’re diving deep into the importance of relationships, how to recognize your destiny helpers, the significance of obedience to God, and how to align yourself with His plan. Read on.
The Importance of Relationships in Fulfilling Destiny
God designed us to live in community.
The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”.
Your destiny is tied to people. Think about the relationships in the Bible: Moses had Aaron, Ruth had Naomi, David had Jonathan, and Paul had Timothy. These relationships were more than friendships but more of divine connections that shaped their destinies.
In relationships, whether that's friendships, mentorships, partnerships, or even brief encounters play an important role in shaping and equipping us for our destiny.
Your Destiny is God’s plan and purpose for your life—the unique path He designed for you to walk in, so you can fulfill His will, glorify Him, and make an impact in the world. It’s the reason you were created, the assignments only you can accomplish, and the legacy you’re meant to leave.
Here is the key: God uses relationships to refine you, equip you, and provide access to opportunities you cannot achieve on your own. Your destiny helpers are bridges to the next season of your life.
My Personal Story: God’s Divine Process
In the middle of my walk with God—what I call His “college of life” and “school of the Spirit”—He began to refine me in ways I never expected. and let me tell you, It's not always pretty, matter fact it feels like being on a surgical table and He is doing a circumcision from the heart and taking out all the filth and you just lay there with no anesthesia even.
One of the first things He worked on me was my moral character. He started teaching me to be disciplined, diligent, instill integrity and holiness in me and most of all to stop being lazy, which was holding me back from stepping into my purpose.
I later realized that the refining process was teaching me to break free from the bad, sinful habits and most importantly it was preparing me for the Kingdom mandate He had for my life.
At the same time, God began honing my gifts and talents. He would give me visions and assignments—pieces of the big picture—but in small crumbs, I guess so I would depend on Him completely. He taught me to trust His voice above my own doubts and verify everything against the truth of His Word.
As I obeyed His promptings, it was like a puzzle coming together. So every time I am obedient, another piece of the picture would fall into place. And when the time was right, He would orchestrate the perfect moment and bring the right people into my life.
Sometimes, He would literally bring destiny helpers right to my doorstep. Pretty wild!
Let me tell you, there’s nothing like seeing God’s hand in action—It is so generous and overwhelming! Other times, though, He would nudge me to step out of my comfort zone and approach the people He had positioned for me.
It feels like pulling my teeth out—but it's also the most exhilarating experiences.
You know the best thing is that through all of this, God teaches me courage, humility, and complete dependence on Him. He never fails to show up, and His plans are always better than anything I could imagine.
How to Recognize Your Destiny Helpers
So, how do you actually know when someone is a destiny helper? Here are some key signs:
They Align with God’s Purpose for Your Life
Destiny helpers will never pull you away from your God-given purpose. Instead, they’ll align with the calling God has placed on your heart. They might see potential in you that you don’t yet recognize in yourself and encourage you to pursue it.
They Challenge and Stretch You
Destiny helpers aren’t always comfortable to be around. They might challenge your mindset, push you out of your comfort zone, or confront you about areas in your life that need growth. Think of how Nathan challenged King David when he sinned (2 Samuel 12).
They Offer Resources or Access You Need
Some destiny helpers have the knowledge, connections, wisdom, or resources you need to move to the next level. Mordecai was Esther’s destiny helper, encouraging her to step into her calling as queen to save her people (Esther 4:14).
They Appear in Critical Seasons
Destiny helpers often show up when you’re at a crossroads or facing challenges. They might provide clarity, open doors, or walk with you through a difficult time.
You Feel a Divine Connection
Sometimes, you just know in your spirit that someone is sent by God. Pay attention to the Holy Spirit’s promptings when you meet someone who speaks life, truth, or encouragement into your situation.
The Significance of Investing in Relationships
Relationships are like seeds—they require care, time, and intentionality to grow. This is why investing in relationships is critical:
You Reap What You Sow: Galatians 6:7 reminds us that what we plant is what we will harvest. Sow kindness, loyalty, and humility into your relationships, and you’ll reap the same.
Iron Sharpens Iron: Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Healthy relationships refine your character, increase your wisdom, and strengthen your faith.
Accountability Keeps You Grounded: A destiny helper can keep you accountable to your goals and your walk with God. They can lovingly correct you when you stray and encourage you when you feel like giving up.
God Blesses Unity: Psalm 133 reminds us that when people dwell together in unity, God commands His blessing. Relationships rooted in love and obedience to God create an environment where His favor flows.
Things to Do
Pray for Discernment: Ask God to reveal your destiny helpers and give you the wisdom to recognize them.
Be Obedient to God’s Promptings: When the Holy Spirit nudges you to connect with someone or let go of a toxic relationship, listen and act. Delayed obedience can cost you opportunities.
Show Gratitude: Appreciate and honor the people God places in your life. A well thought out “thank you for your help, May God bless you” can strengthen the bond and glorify God.
Work on Yourself: God often brings destiny helpers when you’re actively preparing for your purpose. Develop your gifts, refine your character, and pursue excellence.
Position Yourself: Surround yourself with godly people, mentors, and a faith-based community. Put yourself in places where destiny helpers are likely to be—church, conferences, workshops, or volunteer opportunities.

Things Not to Do:
Do not, I repeat do not Idolize Them: Destiny helpers are instruments of God, not gods themselves. Give glory to God, not the person.
Don’t Take Them for Granted: Nurture and value the relationships God gives you. Ignoring them can delay your progress.
Don’t Burn Bridges: Even if a relationship ends, part ways gracefully. You never know how God might use that connection in the future and remember to always be humble.
Don’t Be Selfish and a burden: Destiny helpers are not just there to serve you. Be ready to pour into them as well, offering encouragement, prayer, and support in return. Serve them and provide them with value too in whatever way you can.
Don't be a beggar always asking for money to the point that people avoid you. It's not even about money. Money is fleeting, quality relationships are far more valuable.
The Role of Obedience and the Holy Spirit
There is one thing you need to remember is that in order to recognize and align with your destiny helpers, it requires your obedience.
The Holy Spirit is constantly nudging us, guiding us to the right people and away from the wrong ones. But it’s up to us to listen and act.
When God prompted me to approach certain people, I would feel a bit of fear and hesitation. But every time I obeyed, He showed me why He had sent them.
Obedience unlocks the doors to your next level, while disobedience can delay your destiny.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
How to Align and Position Yourself
If you want to attract destiny helpers, you need to be in alignment with God’s will. This is how you do that:
Seek God First: Your relationship with God is the foundation for all others. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Be Obedient to God’s Word: Obedience unlocks blessings and divine connections. Follow God’s instructions, even when they don’t make sense. Welcome to the club. It's fun, trust me.
Develop Your Gifts: Work on your skills, talents, and character. When you’re diligent, God positions you before the right people (Proverbs 22:29).
Stay Humble: God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Humility opens doors that pride will keep shut. Also do not be entitled.
Be Led by the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit will guide you to the right places, people, and opportunities. Spend time in prayer and listen to His voice ALWAYS.
Above all, Cherish Your Destiny Helpers
Destiny helpers are a gift from God—people sent to guide, equip, and support you on your journey. But remember, relationships are a two-way street. Just as they pour into you, be ready to pour into them.
Be intentional about building connections, obedient to the Holy Spirit’s promptings, and grateful for the people God places in your life.
And never forget: God is the ultimate architect of your destiny. Trust Him to bring the right people into your life at the right time.

As always, remain faithful.
