Hello beautiful soul, let’s have a real heart-to-heart. Have you ever felt like there’s more to life than what you can see? Like, something deeper is happening beneath the surface, but you just can’t figure it out or tell what it is exactly?
Maybe you had an argument with a friend, and it got way out of hand beyond what it should have. Or maybe you’ve been stuck in a cycle of failure, frustration, or fear, and no matter what you do, it feels like something is blocking your progress.
Here is the simple truth: LIFE IS SPIRITUAL.
What do I mean by that? Think of life as a movie. You see the actors, the action, and the drama or romance on the screen, but the real story—the direction, the editing, the soundtrack—is happening behind the scenes. The physical world—the stuff you can see, like people, problems, and situations—is just the surface.
The real action, the stuff that influences and shapes everything, is happening in the spiritual realm.
What Does It Mean That Life Is Spiritual?
When we say life is spiritual, we’re saying that everything in the physical world has its roots in the unseen, spiritual world. It’s like the wind—you can’t see it, but you see how it moves the trees. In the same way, the spiritual realm might be invisible, but it’s constantly affecting your life—your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and even your circumstances.
The Bible makes this clear in Ephesians 6:12:“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Let me break this down for you: your battles in life—the stress, the stagnation, delay, the heartbreak, the fears, the breakthrough, the acceleration—are not just about what’s happening in the physical realm.
There are spiritual forces at work behind the scenes. Sometimes, it’s not just “bad luck” or “people being people.” It’s a battle between good and evil, between God’s plans for your life and the enemy’s schemes to derail you.
Practical Analogy: The Tree Example
Alright, picture this: You’re a tree. Stay with me. 🌳 The part of the tree everyone sees—the branches, leaves, and fruits—that’s your physical life. It’s what people notice: your job, your relationships, your emotions, your achievements and how you show up in the world.
But the part of the tree that matters the most? The part you can’t see? That’s your roots.
Your roots are your spiritual life. They’re hidden underground, but they’re what keep you steady and alive. If your roots are strong—if your spiritual life is grounded—you can grow, thrive, and handle life’s storms. But if your roots are weak, even the smallest gust of wind (like stress, heartbreak, life crisis, grief or fear) can knock you over.
Think about it: If a tree’s roots don’t get water or nutrients, the leaves start to wither, the branches get brittle, and eventually, the whole tree dies. In the same way, if your spiritual life is neglected—if you’re not feeding it with the truth of God which is His word and this is detailed out in the Holy Scriptures, paired with prayer, and awareness—everything else in your life starts to fall down and crumble.
Your relationships feel harder. Your emotions get out of control. You feel stuck or lost with no purpose and well life feels meaningless therefore you start getting depressed and feel apathy.
The "Why" Behind Life Being Spiritual
Let’s get even simpler: when we say life is spiritual, we’re saying that what happens in the spiritual world directly impacts what happens in your physical life.
Here’s an example:
Ever been in a bad mood for no reason? You wake up feeling heavy, irritable, or anxious, and you can’t figure out why? Sure, it might be lack of sleep or stress. But sometimes, that heaviness is not just physical—it has a spiritual cause to it. It could be an attack on your productivity, creativity or you are on the verge of a breakthrough and bam arrows are shot your way by way of demonic energy vampires that drain your energy or it could simply be that you have done something wrong and opened a door for the enemy to gain legal access to torment or oppress you.
That toxic relationship you can’t seem to walk away from? It might be more than emotions—it could be a soul tie keeping you bonded spiritually. That’s why we need to stay away from all sexual immorality and lust of the eyes and flesh.
That cycle of failure or stagnation in your life? Sometimes, those are spiritual blockages, not just “bad luck.”
The enemy’s goal is to keep you blind to the spiritual realm. Why? Because if you don’t know the root of the problem, you’ll keep fighting the wrong battles. You’ll argue with people when it’s really a spiritual attack. You’ll try to fix external issues when the real problem is internal.
The Bible calls the enemy “the thief” in John 10:10:“The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.”
That’s his job: to steal your joy, kill your peace, and destroy your purpose. He’ll use lies, distractions, and confusion to keep you from living the life God created for you.
How Does This Affect YOU?
Here’s the deal: if you don’t understand that life is spiritual, you’ll only deal with surface-level issues. It’s like putting a Band-Aid on a broken arm. You might cover things up for a moment, but the real problem is still there, waiting to get worse.
When you realize that life is spiritual, you stop fighting the wrong battles and start addressing the root cause.
For example:
That random fear about your future? That’s not just “normal stress.” It could be a spiritual attack on your faith and confidence.
That pattern of broken relationships? It might be a spiritual issue—something that needs healing or deliverance.
That constant feeling of being stuck or blocked? It could be a spiritual barrier that you need to pray against. Demons serve as gate keepers in the spirit realm, that’s why you may feel there is a delay when you know you have grown in mental, spiritual, emotional and physical capacity, however the breakthrough seems to not happen. Pray my people, pray consistently and fast and develop an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and He will give you strategies on how to handle your specific situations. He loves you and wants to connect with you. Give God a chance by surrendering your life to Him.
What Can You Do About It?
Let me give you some good news: you’re not powerless. Once you understand that life is spiritual, you’re already ahead of the game. The key is to strengthen your spiritual roots so that no matter what comes your way, you’re grounded and unshakable.
Like a strong building that withstands the test of time and no amount of earthquake can destroy it. That’s how you need to build your faith, on a great, solid foundation in Jesus Christ.
Here’s how you can start:
1. Acknowledge the Spiritual Realm
WAKE UP! Stop ignoring that gut feeling that life is deeper than it seems. When something feels off, take a step back and pray. Ask God to show you what’s really going on beneath the surface.
You need to depend on the Holy Spirit. He is your ultimate personal life guide that will never leave you, but you need to obey Him at all times when He gives you commands and instructions to carry out. He will empower you to do mighty things for the glory of God, to become a true embodiment of divine intelligence but you need to have a pure heart and love people and He will use you to achieve great things for the Kingdom of God.
2. Feed Your Spirit
Just like your body needs food, your spirit needs nourishment too. Read the Bible. Pray. Fast every week to detox your body from toxins, and make it conducive to be able to hear from God clearly and to gain self-control over fleshly desires such as binge or comfort eating that leads to gaining excess weight. Listen to worship music. Praise the Lord Jesus and serve others selflessly. Spend quality time with God. These things strengthen your roots and protect you from spiritual attacks.
These are the things that will uplift your spirit, strengthen your faith, and keep you rooted in God’s truth.
Surround Yourself with a Godly Community
Who you hang out with matters. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:33, “Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.”
On the flip side, being around people who love God will inspire you to stay on the right path.
Find friends who build you up: Look for people who encourage you, pray for you and with you, and point you back to God when you’re struggling. Be a good friend to others.
Join a small group or Bible study: Whether it’s through your church or even online, connecting with others who are on a similar journey will help you grow.
Fill Your Mind with Godly Content
What you feed your mind shapes your thoughts, your emotions, and ultimately your actions. Instead of those ShowMax or Netflix series that make you feel horny or exposes you to violence, evil wicked spells, people cursing and speaking foul language, lust, or negativity, welcome content that inspires and uplifts you.
Watch sermons or godly YouTube channels: There are so many incredible pastors, teachers, and influencers who share wisdom in an engaging and relatable way.
Read Christian books, Self-development or devotionals: Books that teach about faith, purpose, intelligence or spiritual growth can help you dig deeper into your relationship with God and understand this earthly realm better.
Podcasts and audiobooks: On your commute or during a workout, listen to podcasts that feed your spirit with truth and encouragement. Learn high profit skills.
Listen to Worship and Uplifting Music
Music is powerful—it has the ability to influence your mood, your thoughts, and even your spirit. That’s why it’s so important to be intentional about what you’re listening to.
Switch to worship music: It doesn’t have to be all hymns if that’s not your vibe—there’s so much amazing, contemporary Christian music out there. I love Christian Classical music. Worship music shifts your focus from your problems to God’s power and goodness.
Look for positive, clean music: Even if it’s not worship music, choose songs with lyrics that uplift you, inspire hope, or speak truth into your life.
Create a Peaceful, God-Centered Space
Your physical surroundings matter too. Create an environment where you can feel connected to God and at peace.
Dedicate a prayer or quiet space: Find a spot in your home where you can pray, read, and spend time with God. Add a comfortable chair, your Bible, a journal, and maybe even some candles to make it feel inviting and cozy.
Declutter and remove distractions: A messy or chaotic space can reflect a chaotic mind. Keep your environment clean, peaceful, and free of things that distract you from God’s presence.
Enjoy the Creation of God
Spending time in nature is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to connect with God. Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
Go for a walk in nature: Whether it’s a park, beach, or hiking trail, being in God’s creation helps you feel closer to Him and gives you clarity and peace.
Take breaks from technology: Sometimes, you need to unplug from social media and screens to hear God’s voice more clearly.
Speak Life into Your Space
Your words carry power. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, “The tongue has the power of life and death.”
Fill your environment with life-giving words.
Speak affirmations out loud: Declare God’s promises over your life. Say things like, “I am loved. I am chosen. I am more than a conqueror through Christ.”
Pray over your home: Walk through each room and pray for God’s peace, protection, and presence to fill the space.
Write down Scriptures: Post Bible verses on your mirror, walls, or desk—anywhere you’ll see them regularly. These reminders will keep you focused on truth.
Surround Yourself with Positive Influences
Choose to follow and engage with people who inspire you, challenge you to grow, and live out their faith authentically. Those friends that want you to go out and drink, smoke and party, lie, steal, cheat or do wicked things will lead you to destruction, cut them off completely and you should also not influence others to do bad things.
Follow godly influencers on social media: If your feed is full of negativity, comparison, or temptation, unfollow those accounts and replace them with people who speak life and share encouragement.
Find mentors and role models: Look for people you admire spiritually and spend time learning from them, whether it’s through conversations, books, or online content.
Pray for Discernment
Discernment is like a spiritual radar that helps you sense what’s from God and what’s not. When you pray for discernment, you start to recognize when something in your life isn’t just physical but rather it’s spiritual. You are better able to decipher if something is off and take corrective measures.
Know Your Authority
As a believer, you have authority over spiritual forces. Luke 10:19 says, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy.” Pray with confidence, knowing that God has already equipped you to win.
Put on the Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10-18 describes the armor of God, which protects you in spiritual battles. Here’s a quick breakdown:
Belt of Truth: A strong belt that holds everything together. It’s knowing God’s Word and sticking to what’s true, even when lies or doubts creep in. When you know the truth about who God is and who you are in Him, you can stand firm no matter what comes your way.
Breastplate of Righteousness: Protects your heart, just like a shield over your chest. It’s about choosing to live in a way that honors God—making good decisions and staying away from what you know is wrong. Living with integrity keeps your heart safe from guilt, shame, and the enemy’s accusations.
Shoes of Peace: Helps you walk confidently, even when life feels uncertain. It’s about staying calm and grounded because you trust that God is in control. When you carry God’s peace, you can face challenges without fear and bring that same peace to the people around you.
Shield of Faith: Blocks fear, doubt, and negativity from getting to you. It’s choosing to trust God’s promises, even when things don’t make sense. With faith, you can push back against anything that tries to shake you or make you give up. Trust God, even when life gets tough.
Helmet of Salvation: Protects your mind, reminding you that you belong to God and are saved through Jesus. When you focus on the fact that you are loved and forgiven, it keeps your thoughts from spiraling into fear, confusion, or insecurity.
Sword of the Spirit: Your weapon for battle—it’s the Bible. When you’re feeling weak, tempted, or attacked, speaking God’s Word out loud cuts through the lies and strengthens you. It’s how you fight back and claim victory over anything that comes against you.
Life Is an Open-Book Test
Think of life as an open-book test. The answers you need are all in God’s Word, and He’s already given you the tools to win.
So when things get hard, don’t just react to what you see. Go deeper. Strengthen your roots. Lean into God. Because the moment you start taking care of your spiritual life, you’ll notice everything else in your life starting to shift—your relationships, your emotions, and your purpose will all begin to align.
Life is indeed spiritual, and so are you. Let’s start living like it. 🌱✨
As always remain faithful.
I love you.
